How do I attend Fusion?
Any high school, university or college student can attend Fusion Conference, which will be held at the University of Waterloo. Tickets are sold for $30.00. They can be purchased online under our tickets link in the navigation bar, and click "Buy Now" to be directed to our PayPal link to purchase your ticket.
What can I expect this year at Fusion?
This year our conference will be jam-packed with interesting speakers, a networking session and a case competition, followed by a social at the Bombshelter Pub.
What can I expect as a delegate?
Attending Fusion will give you the ability to network with relevant industry professionals, as well as dedicated and like-minded students. You should definitely expect to attend interactive speaker sessions, tour product and company booths, pitch a creative solution in front of your peers during our case competition, and learn in hands-on workshops.
What is the Case Competition like?
Our case competition will take place during the second half of the conference. You will be given the case the day of, and have to work on it during the alotted time. Working in groups of 5, your team will have to prepare a PowerPoint presentation based on the case, and present to our panel of judges. Finalists will present to all the delegates, and winners will be announced.
What will I get if I win the Case Competition?
For the first time Fusion is giving away huge cash prizes for our case competition, totallying $3,500. The first place team will receive $2,000 with each teammate receiving $400. The second place team will receive $1,000 with each teammate receiving $200. The third place team will receive $500 with each teammate receiving $100. That means 15 people are walking away with cash, and you can be one of them!
Can I create a team for the Case Competition?
You can come with your own team or we can make one for you! If you plan on making a team, ensure that all of your team members have purchased a ticket and during our Team Meetup let one of our coordinators know that you are indeed a team.
What do I do if I don't have a team for the case competition?
Not to worry! We are happy to assign you to a team the day of the conference during the Team Meetup. If you have a team of less than 5, we will do our best to accommdate your team to assign you to team to be a total of five members.
What is the social going to be like?
Our social will include a sit-down dinner with a 3-course meal at the Bombshelter Pub, including a free alcoholic beverage with proof of valid ID. As the night continues, the Bombshelter Pub will turn into a dance floor and become a bar night. Bring your dancing shoes!
What are the food options at the conference?
Delegates will have the opportunity to choose between regular and vegetarian meals. Specific dietary restrictions are to be indicated prior to arrival in our ticket form.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is business professional, so dress to impress!
What kind of speakers have come in the past?
We've had speakers from fields and backgrounds ranging from government officials, entrepreneurs, professionals in research, science startups, international corporations, and consulting firms.
